MS. APRIL WELCH

 
Ms. Welch was born and reared in Cedartown, Georgia.  She graduated from Cedartown High School.  She received an Associate degree in Science & Business Administration from Floyd Junior College in 1990, and a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of West Georgia, in 1991.

Ms. Welch Received a Masters Degree in Education & Public Administration from Jacksonville State University in 2001, and is currently finishing her dissertation to complete a Doctorate Degree in Education from the University of Alabama.  Ms. Welch is a lifelong member of Friendship Baptist Church where she serves in the Usher Ministry, Youth department, and Sunday school.

Ms. Welch has served as a volunteer in the following positions:  Polk County Chamber of Commerce: Past President, Vice-President, and Treasurer; Member of the Board of Director for the Polk County College and Career Academy, Keep Polk Beautiful, and Polk Meth Alliance and as an Advisory committee member for the Rockmart High School FBLA.

Ms. Welch’s proudest accomplishment is the successful rearing of two sons, Colby and Julian, who have integrity, character, and strong ethics, and who love JESUS!

April is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Washington, Sr. Born and raised in Cedartown, GA, she graduated from Cedartown High School in 1987.

She is the very proud mother of Colby, Sports Management with the Atlanta Falcons, and Julian, rising senior at Kennesaw State University.  She enjoys running, working out, reading, and fishing.   She believes that education is the vehicle through which she “changes lives every day”.
